From September 1, 2010 the way the ASA regulates Video-on-Demand (VOD) ads will change. Make sure you’re ready by consulting the Copy Advice Team for fast, free and expert advice.
While such ads in paid-for space, both from the internet and through in-home services, have always been subject to the CAP Code, the new approach will mean that certain aspects of ads will be regulated under a new Appendix of rules to the CAP Code. This change is in response to new legislation which places statutory obligations on VOD service providers.
When to apply the new rules in the Appendix will be a finely balanced decision for the ASA. But as ever, the Copy Advice Team will be on hand help both advertisers and media service providers, providing timely and expert advice with appropriate creative amendments, as necessary.
As the experts on compliance advice under the CAP Code and with access to the key decision makers, the Copy Advice Team can help you steer a clear path through the difficulties of considering TV-like advertisements under the non-broadcast provisions of the advertising Code.
